As we continue celebrating the birthdays of our amazing volunteers, today we shine the spotlight on Filomena, who shared with us that November 12, 2025, marks her special day!

Filomena has been an inspiring young leader in our children’s programs—often taking the lead role and showing remarkable creativity and dedication. At just 13 years old, she stands out as one of our most committed teenage volunteers.

She has participated in several initiatives, including Sustainable Eating and Healthy Food, and the Children’s Art Challenge: Unlocking One SDG per Day, which introduced children to the 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals as part of COP28.



Earlier this year, Filomena also took part in the 5th Anniversary of the Africa Educates Her Campaign, where she reflected on the psychological impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on her life back in 2020—showing maturity and empathy well beyond her years.



We are incredibly proud of Filomena’s journey, passion, and leadership. 💫

Filomena visits us regularly, and she is always welcome in our digital labs. As a token of appreciation, she enjoys free creative writing training—an opportunity to continually reflect on the Sustainable Development Goals. On the days she leaves our labs, she never leaves empty-handed; instead of going home hungry, she carries with her a basket full of mangoes and inspiration.
