Honouring Filismina Dala and the Power of Music in Our Mission
Thank you, Filismina.
Today, we continue celebrating the volunteers who have gone above and beyond in supporting our programmes. These remarkable individuals did far more than participate — some organised concerts, others coordinated venues, gathered communities repeatedly, and contributed in ways that deeply strengthened our work.
This moment, however, is dedicated to someone truly special — our gospel singer, Filismina Dala. She has lifted our spirits and touched our hearts through her voice at the openings and conclusions of many of our most successful events. Her devotion and talent have brought warmth, unity, and inspiration to our gatherings.
Music holds a unique power — it heals our souls, makes us cry or smile, calms us or energises us, helps us fall in love, and connects us in ways words alone cannot. Through music, we express what we feel most deeply. It is a universal language, capable of conveying joy, sorrow, hope, love, and longing. And through this language, Filismina has connected us, strengthened our community, and made every moment more meaningful.
Today, we honour her gift, her dedication, and her impact.
Thank you, Filismina, for giving us music that moves not just our ears, but our hearts.
Our girls back to school campaign is ongoing. Day 11
Every day, girls face barriers to education caused by poverty, cultural norms and practices, poor infrastructure, violence and fragility. Girls’ education goes beyond getting girls into school. It is also about ensuring that girls learn and feel safe while in school; have the opportunity to complete all levels of education acquiring the knowledge and skills to compete in the labor market.
Our today's guest is Filismina, she is going to share with us her academic experience.
Hello!
My name is Filismina Dala, I am 20 years old. I would like to share with you my academic experience.
Filismina, are you studying this year?
No.
When did you stop studying?
Well, I stopped studying in 2019.
What were the reasons that stopped you from studying?
Lack of financial possibility. I did not have enough financial resources to continue with my studies.
Would you like to go back to study next year?
Yes I want to go back to school.
How's your financial situation now? Are you sure it's gonna get better?
I believe so.
Have you been following the coronavirus prevention measures?
Yep. I make the use of mask, I wash my hands with soap and water, disinfect them with alcohol gel and I keep the social distancing of 1 meter.
It is with gratitude that we celebrate the conclusion of our new campaign "Overfishing in coastal Africa" recorded in the Atlantic ocean.
