International Volunteer Day 2025 – “Every Contribution Matters”

Celebrating Our Exceptional Volunteers

Greetings, everyone.

As we continue celebrating the fifth anniversary of the Africa Educates Her Campaign, our festivities will carry on until the end of this year. And before 2025 concludes, we are honored to join the global community in marking International Volunteer Day under the outstanding theme: “Every Contribution Matters.”

Over the years, we have featured remarkable volunteers who generously shared their experiences to help address some of the world’s most persistent challenges—especially in the field of education, where many African countries still require substantial improvement. Our campaign has a clear mission: to bring all girls back to school during and after the COVID-19 pandemic, across all African Union Member States.

Our founder, Sofonie Dala, was publicly elected as one of the five ambassadors tasked with promoting this campaign across Africa’s five regions. As an Angolan, she proudly represents Southern Africa.
The campaign achieved significant success across the continent. In Angola, Sofonie Dala worked tirelessly—impacting hundreds of people in person and millions more through online platforms.

Honoring a Truly Exceptional Volunteer

Today, we celebrate a few of our extraordinary volunteers, individuals whose commitment and dedication have been essential to our mission. While every contribution matters, there are volunteers whose efforts in the field went far beyond storytelling—they worked with passion, consistency, and heart.

This year, we are proud to recognize the outstanding achievements of Meury David Dala.

Meury played a crucial role during the campaign’s first anniversary (2020–2021). During a challenging time when many pupils’ education was disrupted by the pandemic, she worked hard at her school alongside classmates and dozens of other students. As an interviewer during the first season, Meury’s gentle voice can be heard in several videos engaging thoughtfully with pupils, encouraging them, and helping bring their stories to light.

Her dedication embodies the spirit of the Africa Educates Her Campaign and the global call of International Volunteer Day: every contribution truly matters. Her work helped inspire solutions not only for her school, but for communities across the continent—because the challenges faced in one country are often shared by many others.

Congratulations, Meury!

Your service, leadership, and compassion have made a lasting impact.
Let us revisit and celebrate some of your memorable moments and past performances.

Enjoy!

Our Corona Voice Show is ongoing. Day 27

Days in lockdown were an opportunity for children to reinvent ways of play and learning, exploring their immediate environment and making the most of what they had available.

Our today's guest is Meury. She will recite a very emotional Covid-19 poem for us all.

Ladies and gentlemen, please meet our poet Meury!
